Cow Cuteness!

Good morning friends!
Isn't this the cutest!?!
My daughter stitched up this cow from Prairie Schooler's Barnyard Christmas ,,and I finished
it up into a tart pan.. She found the tart pans on Amazon.. We cut a piece of sticky board into a round shape.. I added batting on top of that and then stuffing on top of the batting. I then added the stitched piece and hot glued it around the back ..
I ruffled a strip of torn red homespun and added that to the back so a little would peek out around the edge of the tart pan. I added some sprigs of greenery ..a bow from the homepun and a buffalo check covered button.. It is adorable and now I have to stitch all those animals!

The latest floss tube video..

Have a great day !

Trick or Treat Window

Good morning friends!
I finished this Bent Creek piece a couple days ago and finished it up into a vintage window yesterday..

I dyed the fabric with tea and coffee then didn't think it was dark enough so I poured some brown Rit dye on it and rinsed it out .. All the colors I used are above .. this was a really quick stitch ..Long and skinny ..so I needed to find a cute way to finish it..
I found this window at the flea market last time and added the stitching to the bottom..My daughter Chelsea cut me the Trick or Treat letters on her Cricut .. I have a Cricut too but she has a newer version hooked up to her I Pad so it's easier for her to use than dragging my computer down the basement .. I attached them with a little adhesive so I can remove them and add another piece to the window for a different season..I also added a crow from The Dollar Tree on top...I added a band of black check homespun to each end of the piece ..

Thanks so much for your visit!

Hello Fall!

 Good morning friends!
I finished stitching this Annie Beez Folk Art chart yesterday.. and fully finished it this morning..
As you can see I changed the words on the piece.. since I don't decorate for Thanksgiving ( I start on Christmas decor the first of November) this way it's good to go for the entire fall.. I also only had one of the called for colors so I showed you in this picture the colors I did use..It's stitched on 28 count coffee/ tea dyed evenweave..

I found this tray at the Flea Market for $1.00 it is really tarnished and I like it like that ! :)..I cut an oval from sticky board ..added a piece of batting on top of that and then hot glued the piece around the back.. I added white pom poms and a gathered piece of black check homespun around the back.. I made the bow from 2 different homespun fabrics and a little burlap ribbon on top of a Fall berry pic...I think it turned out really cute!

Happy Halloween Chalkboard

Hello friends!
I am still Halloweening around here, and today the kitchen chalkboard got decorated for Halloween!
I made this chalkboard from a vintage frame from a rummage sale..I got a board cut to fit it and painted it with chalkboard paint.. I change it up pretty much monthly..I think we are on year 4 of this chalkboard..

A big happy jack-o -lantern to great you as you come into the kitchen ..with a garland of small jack -o-lanterns dancing around..
I can't wait to carve the real pumpkins but for now the chalkboard pumpkins will have to do!
Thanks so much for stopping to visit!

October..

 Hello friends..
This is the October sampler months from Little House Needleworks and Classic Colorworks..
I found the little crate at Michael's and added a magnet to it and sheet metal to the back of my stitched piece to be able to change it out for the different months...
I added a Halloween plaid bow , berry picks, cotton branches and a little velvet pumpkin.. to the crate with a crow on top !  It's on display in our family room with other things Fall .. The pickup truck was a gift from my neighbor for the grandsons.. it has to be on display for a while first!

It's stitched on 28 count tea/ coffee dyed evenweave ..I did change the fence color to Classic Colorworks Khaki Mocha.. it was charted for a brown color.. I also left out the heart and gave the crow a  french knot eye. The backing fabric is black check homespun.. both were mounted on seperate pieces of sticky board then hot glued together..

Thanks so much to all of you who keep tagging us when using my finishing ideas !

We Made Halloween Quilts!

 Happy Monday!
My daughter Chelsea decided we needed to learn to make a quilt .. so that is what we did this weekend! We each made a twin size Halloween quilt.. from 4 inch squares. We You tubed a lot of the instructions .. It isn't easy to make one but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be ..Binding was a little hard.. And ..OMG there is a a stack of Christmas squares ready to make a Christmas quilt! How did that happen!
My other daughter ( the fury one) thinks it is hers! Chelsea did great .. she had never really sewn before other than in Home Ec..But now she has a quilt  that she made!

She is the Queen of this castle :)

Halloween Night 2

Good morning!
I decided to stitch up this cute little Halloween piece..Halloween Night from Heart in Hand..
You might remember my daughter Chelsea also stitched this and I finished it for her.. When I saw how cute hers was I went and bought the same wood shelf piece from Michael's to stitch my own!

I finished mine a little differently .. I painted the wood piece with chalkboard paint..then mounted my stitching on sticky board and did some black check homespun on sticky board.. glued the 2 pieces together..and glued to the wood piece..  on hers I ruffled the homespun to put on the back..
I added black and orange berry picks and a Halloween plaid bow.. this is the same plaid ribbon I usedon the Halloween tree. the whole piece  got some chalk doodles..
This wood piece is nice because it is free standing.. no need for an easel..
Thanks so much for visiting!
